USCCA Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals Instructor, NRA Range Safety Officer
Wesley teaches the USCCA Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals course, the class Michigan recognizes for a concealed pistol license. He is a clear communicator who puts people at ease, which matters most to the students who arrive unsure about firearms and leave comfortable handling one.
Experienced shooters get something out of the day too. The class works on the core skills, and Wesley teaches drawing from a holster correctly, in a setting where there is time to do it slowly before doing it well.
His classes run at the Platte River Inn in Honor. The range portion is scheduled with him on the day of class at a time that suits you, on a private range.

Questions students ask
Is this class state approved?
Yes. Every class listed here meets the Michigan CPL training requirements, and your certificate is valid for your application at the county clerk.
Where does Festina Lente hold its classes?
At the Platte River Inn restaurant, 10921 Main St in Honor, Michigan. Classes start at 9:00 AM and run until about 3:00 PM, and you can order food during the day. There are no dates posted right now, so call (248) 662-5744 to ask when the next one runs.
Do I need any experience?
No. Beginners are welcome and many students are shooting for the first time. You will be coached at your own pace, and questions are welcome at any point in the day.
How long does the class take?
One day. You cover the classroom material and the live fire range session in the same session.
Do I need my own gun?
Not usually. Most classes have firearms and ammunition available for you to use, and some ranges rent a pistol instead. Check the class listing for details, or call us at (248) 662-5744 before you book.
What should I bring?
A valid state ID, closed-toe shoes, a pen and a good attitude. Bring your own pistol, holster and ammunition if you have them.
